The good thing about this week’s menu plan is that it includes one of my most requested appetizers, Baked Vidalia Onion Dip, and it will be served over toasted French bread baguette slices. I promise you, this warm, cheesy, golden brown, Baked Vidalia Onion Dip is amazing and only has 3 ingredients. Yes, you read that right, 3 ingredients. {ok 5 if you count the salt and pepper}
{Menu Plan Monday} Featuring
3 Ingredient Baked Vidalia Onion Dip
Before I get to the Baked Vidalia Onion Dip, let me get my weekly menu out there because I have a funny feeling nobody is going to care about the rest of the week. All eyes are on the dip. By the way, everything on my menu is made in my kitchen from scratch unless otherwise noted. My husband and I have a system; we menu plan together, we shop together, I prep for the week, he cooks most meals because he gets home 2 hour before me and I blog about it.
Weekly Menu Plan
- Lemon pepper salmon, garlic smashed red potatoes and green beans
- Chicken breast stuffed with cheese & asparagus and pesto rice
- Homemade pizza and salad
- Ruben Panini (on homemade pumpernickel bread) and garlic sautéed green beans
- Enchiladas stuffed with chicken with my roasted tomatillo sauce, beans and Spanish rice
- Fake-Out Take Out Whole30 Cauliflower Fried Rice
- Ham, roasted brussel sprouts, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and dessert (Salted Caramel Chocolate Pie )
3 Ingredient Baked Vidalia Onion Dip
So before a holiday dinner we like to have appetizers for brrrr…unch. Not gonna lie, I have eaten this dip for breakfast before. I was introduced to this onion dip a year ago and it has been my go to appetizer ever since. It is requested at every family gathering, pot luck, work lunch, girls night out and I have even been known to make it just because it tastes so damn good on a burger. Not kidding.
- 2 Cups of thinly sliced Vidalia onions {must use sweet Vidalia onions, no substitutions}
- 2 Cups of shredded Swiss Cheese
- 2 Cups of Mayo {I prefer Hellman’s, of course.}
- Optional sprinkle of salt and pepper
Directions for Dummies
- Mix all 3 ingredients in a bowl, pour into an 8×8 pan that was sprayed with Pam, sprinkle with salt and pepper (optional) and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve on toasted French bread baguette slices {crackers or tortilla chips work too}
So if you really wanted to get crazy, you can make a smaller or larger portion of this baked onion dip. Just keep in mind it is equal portions of all 3 ingredients. Whatever you do, promise me you will try it on a burger!
