Happy Memory Jar & CCBG #26

Happy Thursday! Once again, I’ve joined up with my crafty friends from the Creative Craft Blog Group {CCGB} to bring you our weekly Link Party CCBG#26. Before we move on with the Link Party I want to tell you a little bit about my Happy Memory Jar.

Some Memory Jar Supplies

DIY Happy Memory Jar

My very first blog post was about a project designed to capture a year full of happy memories. As some of you know, my 23 year old son unexpectedly passed away in March of 2015. The year had been filled with such unbearable heartache and the thought of 2016 gave me hope that better days were ahead.

Memory Quote

I gathered some random craft items around my house and created a happy memory jar for myself and my three daughters. We have been filling each memory jar (decorative jar, mason jar and berry basket) with all our happy memories throughout 2016. On New Year’s Eve we will be reading and reminiscing about all the happiness we were able to capture even though grief is and always will be a daily part of our lives.

Creative Craft Bloggers Group Link Party #26

How does a link party work?

Every Thursday a group of my crafty friends will host a new link party. By linking your recent homemade project to the bottom of this post a thumbnail image will be added to the collage with a link to your blog so that  we can visit your blog and see what you have been making.

Your project could be featured!

Each week one of my crafty friends and myself will choose our personal favorite link of the week. If you are featured on one of our blogs, grab this button and share the good news with your crafty friends. {Put the button on your blog and share it on Facebook too.} Featured posts will also be added to the Creative Craft Bloggers Group Pinterest Board.

My Featured Post of the Week

Oh My Goodness! I seriously can’t get over the creative genius shown on the makeover of this blanket rack turned Farmhouse Vegetable Stand that was submitted by Redo It Yourself Inspirations. Such a creative way to repurpose something I see all the time at the thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales. She also used Milk Paint which is something I need to try.

Link Party Rules

I am excited to be inspired by your crafty projects and homemade goodness. Before you link up your project, please take a quick peek at the rules below and feel free to share this party with others. {The more the better.}

          • Link to a specific post, not your home page.
          • Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.
          • Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.
          • Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.
          • Please do not pin from the thumbnails below. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog.

Denise, I won’t even begin to pretend that I know how you feel. I hope you find comfort in the happy memories you have made.
I think your memory jar will be helpful during your healing process.

Denise, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son, that must be devastating. I think it’s a great idea for you and your 3 daughters to fill jars full of happy memories for 2016. I can imagine how lovely it will be to open them on New Year’s and reminisce together.

Thank you so much for your kindness Keri. We are doing our best to make happy memories and I am looking forward to a year in review on December 31st.
