Who doesn’t like to look and feel great? Every woman has her favorite beauty products and I am no exception to the rule.

I have lots of favorites but for today I wanted to talk about my top 5 favorite beauty products that I use every day. Not everything on my list is overly expensive either but we all have our splurge items too. Again, I am no exception to the rule.
Favorite Beauty Products – Eye Stuff
I have been on the hunt for the perfect mascara for years (yes, I said years) and I have finally found it. This Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara from IT Cosmetics makes my lashes look so long and full, it doesn’t irritate my eyes (I have super sensitive eyes that tear often) and I don’t have flaking issues. Best of all, when I get home from work my lashes look just like they did when I applied my makeup and left the house in the morning.
As I get older (not yet 50), I am in need of some eye help. I have fallen in love with their Eye Transforming Essentials kit which includes the mascara, eye cream and makeup remover.
Favorite Beauty Products – Hair Stuff
After I started getting highlights, over time, I noticed that my hair would get dry on the ends because of the bleaching process. After talking to my hairstylist (aka my daughter) about my concerns, she highly recommended using Redken All Soft Heavy Cream on the ends of my hair once a week. This product makes my hair so soft, doesn’t weigh down my fine hair and it has cured my dry hair issues.
Because I have fine hair along with chronic anemia I tend to have more than normal hair loss. I use Nioxin cleanser and conditioner daily. Also, I absolutely LOVE the It’s a 10 Miracle Blowdry Volumizer.
Favorite Beauty Products – Face Stuff
Face cleansers for oily skin tend to make my skin dry and flaky. I was basically curing one problem and creating another problem except when I found Cetaphil Facial Cleanser. There is nothing fancy about this cleanser as it is gentle and fragrance free. It’s a simple cleanser that cleans my face and doesn’t make it dry and tight.
Amazon had an amazing Black Friday deal on the Clairsonic Mia facial cleansing system and I am so glad that I picked one up for myself. Once a week I do a deep poor cleansing with the special attachment.
I recently started making my own moisturizer with organic coconut oil and essential oils. Oh my goodness, my skin is so soft and hydrated.
Favorite Beauty Products – Nail Stuff
As much as I love being pampered with a professional manicure, life happens and I have to do my nails at home most of the time. By far the best and most needed nail polish is Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
No matter what color or type of nail polish you apply, this top coat dries, sets quickly and gives your nails that smooth and shiny professional looking finish. Best of all, my polish stays nice looking without chipping for 5-7 days.
Favorite Beauty Products #5
I truly believe every woman needs a signature fragrance that simply reminds people she is in the room. It took me years to find something that wasn’t too heavy yet able to linger in the air and leave a memorable scent that invokes “happiness”. {Like that play on words?} I have been wearing Clinique Happy for about 8 years and I get daily compliments about my perfume. {Even strangers will ask me what I am wearing.} It has a light floral scent that is fresh and clean….and makes me happy….as well as those around me.
These are the 5 things I use every day and maybe they aren’t in your top 5 beauty products but I’d love to hear what you use. Leave me a comment or visit the My Thrifty House Facebook page.
I so enjoyed hearing about your favorite beauty products!! Confession: I never use a top coat for my polish, but maybe that’s why they chip so fast- ?
Thanks Sarah. The Seche Vite is a miracle top coat…you will never want to polish your nails without it.
I love perfumes, but to many people around me are allergic to scents, so I hardly get to wear perfume. I am intrigued by the “Happy” scent, have to see if I can find it someday. I have always love Clinique’s products.
Marjan…..it reminds me of a fresh clean smell…not too much floral at all. Go test it out and see if you like it.
I have to completely agree with you on the Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat. I taught cosmetology for 20 years and we used it a lot. It is simply fantastic for getting back to life quickly and lasting longer than an hour (that’s my normal time as I am pretty hard on my nails)!!
Melony….it is a game changer when it comes to doing your nails at home. 🙂
Denise,
I discovered that mascara 2 months ago. I literally thought I had no lashes until I started using it. AMAZING. The guy told me they actually will help your own lashes grow and fill out.
I did my first favorite five on the Happy Scents…while I bought that one first, I love the other two much more…but they have a more floral than citrus fragrance to them. I love my husband in the Men’s Happy. It is his favorite.
Debbie….I love that mascara and it does help my lashes grow. I am going to look into getting the Happy cologne for men. Thanks.
Clinique Happy has always been one of my favorite scents. I discovered it years ago and still keep a bottle in my closet. Now what I might have to try is that mascara. If nothing else, I always do my eye makeup so good mascara is a must-have! Thanks for sharing!
Paige….you won’t be let down by the mascara….I love it.
You convinced me! Ordering Soon!
Clinique Happy is my FAV!!! My mother-in-law gets it for me every year for my birthday…I don’t leave the house without it 🙂
Susanne….everyone in my family knows…when in doubt get Clinique Happy. Love it.
