DIY Recipe Book with Printable Recipe Cards

Each month I team up with my blogging friends and share a craft project with you made from supplies I have been hoarding collecting.  We call it the Craft Room De-Stash Challenge. I am finally going to take these mini books and make a recipe book.

I have always been crafty and love giving gifts that are well thought out and personalized. Since I do a lot of cooking I am always asked to share my recipes and I thought this DIY Recipe Book would be a way for me to share recipes with family and friends.

DIY Recipe Book 1

As you know, in a former life, I worked in the craft and hobby industry which means I have a lot of crafts supplies stock piled in my house. I no longer have a designated craft room so things are packed up in boxes in my crazy, messy basement. Being part of the monthly Craft Room Destash motivates me to use what I have on hand to get creative.

I also have this issue of savings things that I might need one day such as these Longaberger books. I honestly don’t know the original intended purpose these books were to serve but I think I held onto them to make mini scrapbooks. Well, that plan has since changed and I am making a mini recipe book for my college bound daughter.

Now keep in mind, these mini books can only hold about a dozen recipes so I am going to add a few of my favorite recipes and include some blank recipe cards so she can add her own favorite recipes. You can download the recipe card template here.

If you don’t happen to have a mini book available to DIY your own recipe book you can find a variety of scrapbooks in different shapes and sizes on Amazon {affiliate link, you can read my full disclosure here}.

DIY Recipe Book made from repurposed book

As I said earlier, every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C’mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Check out some awesome creations you might be able to make from your own stash! #CraftRoomDestashChallenge

I love the way you’ve repurposed that notebook Denise! It reminds me of a spiral bound calendar notebook I have that I never wrote in. I need to dig it back out and see what I can make out of mine. I would love to have a look at your craft supplies! They look interesting.

What a wonderful gift for your daughter. My mother wrote down my favorite meals for me, too. But only in a plain white notebook 😉

This is a really thoughtful gift. My Mom bought me my first cookbook and wrote a poem inside, I still treasure it. Beautiful idea.
