Keeping it real here, using faux pumpkins while decorating for fall not only saves some money but it’s another excuse for me to get crafty and add some little DIY touches throughout my home. There certainly isn’t a shortage of pumpkin ideas on Pinterest and I have a whole board dedicated to fall decorating ideas.

I don’t know about you but I am especially drawn to the white pumpkins. I just love that they can be put into any room and blend well with any decor. I save my traditional orange pumpkins for decorating the front porch. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of this post I am sharing my favorite white pumpkin from the CCBG link party.

Painted Faux Pumpkins

Chalk painted faux pumpkins are all the rage these days. Last year I opted to ditch the traditional orange pumpkins and painted all of my fake pumpkins with my homemade white chalky paint. Then I lightly sanded them to add some distressing and let a little of the orange show through the paint.

Chenille Faux Pumpkins

The other day I shared a quick and easy tutorial for how I made these chenille pumpkins from a torn and frayed chenille blanket that I saved from the trash. I love the bumpy texture of these stuffed pumpkins and trust me when I say that they are super easy to make. I have extremely limited sewing skills and this was an easy DIY project.

Ceramic Faux Pumpkins

I painted this ceramic pumpkin with a white layer of white chalky paint and again distressed it to show some of the orange color. This pumpkin is also a planter and I happen to have a black thumb which means I kill all plants. Therefore I opted to add some faux succulents to the pumpkin and so many people have actually thought they were real. Go figure.

Keeping up with my faux pumpkin theme, my featured post of the week is the adorable DIY Magnolia Pumpkin submitted by Lolly Jane Blog. Adding the faux magnolia to the top of the pumpkin is adorable but I am loving the tutorial on adding the gold lettering to the pumpkin. She has inspired me to get practice and try my hand at drawing on one of my pumpkins.
