Yes, I am known for scouring flea markets and collecting “stuff”. This vintage yardstick picture frame has helped put a dent into one of my many collections. Old chairs, cabinet doors, picture frames and yardsticks always make their way home with me. I love the faded, worn colors and the typography of the various advertising on an old yardstick.
This vintage yardstick picture frame was a quick and easy project that has added some character and color to the gallery wall I am slowly building up in my Modern Farmhouse Kitchen.
I pulled this well loved picture frame from one of my other collections and had my husband cut the yardsticks 14 inches long. He stapled each end into the lip of the frame and added some screws to hold the letter “B” in the center of the frame. Within 15 minutes this vintage yardstick picture frame was hanging up on the kitchen gallery wall.
Thank you very much for featuring my wallpapered lampshades. Hope you have a good week.
Thanks for the inspiration Claire. I love your post and all the options you shared. Great tutorial too.
WOWWW This vintage yardstick fame is BEAUTIFUL !!
I really like it 🙂
Thank you for hosting this party
Thank you Winnie…and thanks for playing along.
Would love to see a wide shot of that wall in your kitchen.
I am working on it but will post a wide shot soon.
P.S. LOVE all your craftiness but I love me a good yardstick project.
I love the frame!! The colored yard sticks have the most awesome vibe!
Anika….I love the colors too.
I just love your yardstick collection and how you made this awesome frame! So clever! Your kitchen gallery wall looks beautiful too! Wish I could come junking with you!
Thanks my friend. I wish you could go junkin with me too!
I love the look of the yardsticks!
Thanks Janet…me too.
How pretty! Instead of having those old yardsticks tucked away somewhere, they’re front and center and everyone can enjoy the color and the old timeyness (yes that’s a word).
Hahahah….the old timeyness color is my favorite part.
The frame looks great! I love the colors and character of the yardsticks.
Yes, the colors and typography are my favorite part too.
Very cool picture frame Denise! Love how you updated it plus you can’t beat the price!
Yes, the price is just right. I love upcycling and making something new again.
I love the effect of the vintage yardsticks in the frame. It really gave the frame interest. Plus I like the look. The whole wall is charming.
Thank you so much. I love this project too.
Great idea! I love how it turned out. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for visiting.
I love all things rulers and yardsticks. This is FAB!!!
Me too. Thanks Deborah.
This is really well done. I have seen various frames using rulers etc but never one where rulers are the backdrop. Love this idea.
