My Journey: Whole30 Day 14
Whole30 day 14 is here and I can’t believe I have been doing this for two whole weeks already. If I wasn’t writing about this journey every day I would forget that I am on a diet. I don’t even consider it a diet because I am eating everything I ate before but slightly modified. I am learning that you can get creative and work around non-compliant foods without sacrificing flavor or feeling deprived. {Zucchini noodles will be a regular thing in this house.}
Today I got some happy mail and this box of condiments and salad dressing {affiliate link} made me do a little dance in my kitchen. Truly, my biggest challenge on this journey has been finding delicious salad dressing without sugar and I have to say that Tessemae’s has the BEST products for the Whole30 challenge. {I can’t even tell you how much money I have wasted on crappy salad dressing.} Yes, balsamic vinegar and olive oil are always acceptable but gets boring real quick. Right now I am currently addicted to the Garlic Lemon dressing.
My Whole30 Day 14 Food {Menu of the Day}
Breakfast:
- Unstuffed Green Pepper Soup {I altered my recipe and made it compliant and I never missed the rice.}
- Cashew Larabar {Not a fan.}
Lunch:
- 2 turkey roll ups with salami, broccoli sprouts, chili lime mayo wrapped in lettuce
- almonds
Snack:
- Blah-ck coffee {I was cold and wanted something warm. I am still not a fan but it is easier to drink.}
- Lemon Larabar {Normally, I only eat one bar per day but not today.}
Dinner:
- Taco Salad, mixed green and peppers, topped with seasoned group beef and Tessemae’s Southwest Ranch {affiliate link}
- Roasted sweet potatoes
My Whole30 Fitness {Fitbit Steps}
It’s really hard for me to get steps in during the week. Excuse, maybe but I have a job that has me tied to my desk or sitting in meetings all day. I am not going to beat myself up just yet for being a slug because I am really working on a strategy to give myself more time away from my desk. To help make up for my lack of steps during the week I will focus on 10,000 on the weekends. Baby steps.
My Whole30 Feelings {energized & focused}
I am so full of energy and my brain feels turned on and fully engaged if that makes any sense. At work my team keeps commenting about how focused and driven I am and I have to agree. I am getting stuff done, I am getting organized, I am getting caught up and it feels damn good to be on this path. Like I said, I am working a strategy to give myself more time away from my desk and this feels right.

Love this post, Denise! I’m doing weight watchers and I’m loving it. Healthy eat makes me feel so much better! I’ll pop in and watch your progress!
Thanks for the support Janine. Good luck to you on your journey as well.
I love reading this. I am not on Whole30 per say but am definitely changing to more of a high fat/low carb way of eating. I have already lost 10 lbs and an inch off my waist. It has been four weeks. I feel so much better. I am also at a sit down day job and feel like I should get up and walk more. But I am still losing so that is the main thing for me right now. I started this to cure my GERD and it is getting better. It is taking a long time but I am seeing improvement. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Michelle…I am so happy to hear the changes you made are working for you and the weightloss is happening too. I noticed lots of health changes in just the first two weeks so I can only imagine it will keep getting better from here.
What kind of job do you do Denise? I’m curious…
By day I am the Director of Marketing for a bank by night I am a blogger. 🙂
