DIY Outdoor Dartboard Made from Pallets

I am a huge fan of taking “trash” and repurposing it into something unique and unexpected just like this outdoor dartboard.

Over the last few weeks we have been preparing for summer and sprucing up our patio & deck area. Taking the 3 pallets that have been sitting against the garage for the last year and repurposing them into an outdoor dartboard have not only cleaned things up around here but it has also provided the family with some great entertainment too.

How we Made an Outdoor Dartboard Using Pallets

Enjoying a quick game using the outdoor dartboard made from pallets.

My husband has been collecting darts for years and the dartboard was a flea market find so naturally my crafty brain headed straight over to Pinterest to do some research on outdoor yard games.

Assembling the outdoor dartboard with a Craftsman nail gun and pallets.

Even though this dartboard is technically an early Father’s Day gift, I wouldn’t have been able to get it done without the help of my handyman hubby. {Trust me, he doesn’t complain about having to break out the power tools.}

We used a Sawzall and cut the nails that were holding the exterior boards to the pallet frame. Then we created a frame from the guts of the pallet. After that we put the boards back on the frame without any spaces to create the backdrop of the box. This way if someone misses the dartboard the dart would stick into the wood.

There were so many option on how to make an outdoor dartboard that we just did a mash-up of several ideas and this is what we came up with. I am happy to say it has provided the family with hours of entertainment with our collection of backyard games.

My Featured Post of the Week

My featured link of the week is this old rusty bike turned into awesome yard art submitted by Tonya over at Hey There Delyla. Not only did she do a great job with the bike but she creatively used it to hide an eyesore in her yard. I am such a huge fan of uniquely repurposing junk for the perfect punch of wow and Tonya has my vote.

    I love that you did this outside! I always think of dart boards as being in the basement – dark and dingy. I bet this is so much fun!

      Yes, we have a patio that needed some love and attention off the side of our deck and this is the perfect gaming area.
