Red, White and Blue Mixed Berry Sangria Recipe

With summer right around the corner I figured now was the time to perfect this mixed berry sangria recipe. It’s so cool, refreshing, easy to make and Wonder Woman approved.

It’s time for my monthly Monday Movie Challenge and we were asked to create something inspired by Wonder Woman. What does Wonder Woman make you think of?

No, fruity sangria doesn’t make me think of Wonder Woman but a patriotic red, white and blue sangria with gold stars sure does make me think of her. Oh and the light golden color of the chardonnay represents her lasso of truth.

I had intended on making wine charms to go along with this Wonder Woman challenge but time eluded me. If only I had some super powers to add more time to my day.

Combine all of the berries in a bowl, sprinkle with sugar and soak in brandy and chill for 10 minutes. Use a star cookie cutter to cut the apple slices and soak them in sprite to keep them from turning brown. Pour chardonnay into a pitcher, add the fruit mixture including the brandy juice and the sprite. Chill in the fridge for at least one hour before serving. The longer it sits the better is tastes.

I will be completely honest with you, I don’t like fruit but this mixed berry sangria goes down so smoothly and has quickly become a new favorite drink. It is so refreshing and the perfect drink for on a hot summer day or and patriotic enough for a 4th of July BBQ.

Make sure you hop over to visit some of the other bloggers that took on the Wonder Woman movie challenge as I am quite sure you will be inspired by their creativity.
