Jumbo Wooden Dice for the Backyard

I am looking forward to the weekend, warmer temperatures and fun times with my family in the backyard playing games with these jumbo wooden dice.

How to Make Jumbo Wooden Dice

I am the lucky mom of very active kids that are always on the run and I love anything that creates a moment of family fun. These wooden dice brought us laughter and fun within 30 seconds of being tossed into the yard.

Having fun playing games with the Jumbo Wooden Dice

This week my husband used a 4×4 to permanently anchor our volleyball net in the backyard. Of course, I immediately looked up how to use the extra pieces of scrap wood and jumbo wooden yard dice also known as Yardzee is what I found on Pinterest. This yard game is perfect addition to our other yard games. We are creating a backyard filled with summer fun and happy memories.

Jumbo Wooden Dice cut and marked with lines

My sweet husband did the hard part of marking off the 4×4, cutting the blocks, sanding the edges and drilling the holes. I managed to add a coat of flat black spray paint and topped each wood block with a coat of white chalk paint and light distressed them with some sandpaper.

Summer goes by too quickly and I enjoy the time we have being outside. The outdoor dartboard gets plenty of use as well as our stepping stone hopscotch and now we have some jumbo wooden dice to add to our backyard game collection. I have a few more ideas up my sleeve but you can look at my Outdoor Yard Game Pinterest Board for more inspiration.

My Featured Post of the Week

We are in the heat of summer right now and I am still in gardening mode. I love this round up of Clever Planter Ideas submitted by Medina at Grillo Designs. I have successfully executed a few of these ideas myself but this round up has got my brain going for things I can repurpose next year. Those boots hanging on the fence are too darn cute!
